Chapter 24
A uniformed waiter approached me at the table and gave me a menu. I ordered a refreshing drink and a light meal which consisted of a grilled fish fillet, vegetables, and a corn muffin.
While waiting for my order, a flicker of concern danced in my mind as I detected that all too familiar scent – a scent that had once led me to the presence of a vampire. My heart quickened its pace, my senses heightened with an undercurrent of both fear and intrigue. Could it be possible that the man standing nearby in all black was the very same vampire who had left an indelible mark on my memory?
As if on cue, the man turned towards me, his gaze meeting mine with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine. His dark eyes held a captivating allure, and a mysterious smile curved upon his lips. It was a moment frozen in time, as if the world around us faded into insignificance, leaving only the two of us locked in a silent exchange, but I stared into his face, I realized he wasn’t the man
