Chapter 3

A few weeks after the opening of FireClub, Jeon JaeHwa was getting ready for another big day. However, in that one, his mood wasn't good at all, and his happiness didn't show either, even with so many attacks from Hayoon to change a little everything that the older's body already felt.

"We will win." he said, smiling, arranging the tie that Jeon was wearing.

"I expect." replied, sighing.

Hayoon also sighed, staring at him once more. He left a kiss on her thin lips before pulling away.

He looked for his own tie, still arranging it in the closet. She put on her best pair of dress shoes and arranged her shiny hair.

"Why is your father coming here?" Jeon stopped at the entrance portal. Hayoon shrugged.

"I have no idea."

"Is it really a good idea to welcome him on judgment day?"

"I don't know either, Jae." He turned away, sighing once more. "But what can I do? He promised it wouldn't be anything about our relationship."

"And you believe it? I'm sorry, Hayoon, but they are not trustworthy people, they want to hurt you anyway, and doing that right on the judgment day could be your mother's move."

"So I ask him not to come?"

"At least ask him to come after the trial, that way they can't set anything up. And I won't let you two talk alone either, I don't trust him."

"All good." Hayoon dropped the brush that was combing her hair and looked for her cell phone. "I'll send you a message."

JaeHwa watched Park type the message, but turned his eyes to his mother, who entered the room at that time.

"Where is Hayoon?" He asked. JaeHwa just pointed with his chin. "Hayoon, your father is there."

Park looked at his boyfriend when he heard him snort, but he nodded.

"Tell him I'm on my way, mother-in-law."

Euna nodded, leaving the room.

"I go there."

"No, Jae, let us talk alone, okay?"

"Are you sure?"

"He won't do anything. Not today."

"You trust a lot those who have hurt you mercilessly... You lack hate, Hayoon."

Park laughed, moving closer to let another seal on the thin lips.

"If I need you, I scream.”

JaeHwa didn't smile at that moment, he was really worried. He saw Hayoon go and followed him, watching him from afar.

JoonHo wasn't so different from the few times JaeHwa saw him. He wore an expensive, neat suit, and his face was serious as he sat on the couch in his living room.

The man's eyes went to his son, but shifted to JaeHwa, who was close behind.

"Are we going to talk privately?" was the first question he asked Hayoon.

The youngest turned around, finding JaeHwa right behind him.

Jeon raised his hand, straightening his posture. JoonHo strangely squeezed his palm, returning the squeeze.

"I just want to remind you that you are under our roof, please be respectful."

Park arched an eyebrow, still looking down on him, but nodded at the end.

"I'll leave you alone." he uttered the words, leaving a kiss on Hayoon's forehead before walking away and heading to the outside area, where his mother and Fluffy were.

"Frowning him, isn't he?" JoonHo sat down again.

"What are you doing here?" Hayoon questioned, not caring about her father's jab at JaeHwa.

"I came to talk about the money."

"No, Dad... I don't want to talk about it anymore."

"I found out. It was really your mother."

"Ah, but you swear? It was obvious from the beginning, but you preferred to accuse even JaeHwa of stealing from me, didn't you?"

"Okay, I messed up."

"You made a lot of mistakes. But I understand your ridiculous superiority. It must fill your ego in a way that no one in their right mind would. It's a survival need for you."

"Can you stop this? You're not a kid anymore."

"Oh, I'm not? So how do you explain Mom coming here and wanting to almost pull me out of my house by the arms?"

"This isn't your house, Hayoon. And she was just trying to protect you."

"Protect me? From who? From yourselves?"

"No, from Kim Kang."

Hayoon rolled her eyes."

"Did you really come here to talk about him right on the day of the trial? What kind of low blow is that?"

"I have nothing to do with this trial, you know. I just came here to have a peaceful talk with you."

"There is no more peace in anything related to our family, Dad. We are this chaos, and I am willing to disengage completely from all of this."

"Don't talk nonsense. I know nothing can get you out of here anymore, you've shown your stamina, and honestly, Hayoon... I'm tired."

Hayoon laughed, crossing her arms, feeling the typical tingle soon run through her body. It was always like this. Her nervousness caused it.

"Just say what you want, I need to go."

"I just came to tell you I gave you your money back."

"You what?!"

"I'm really tired, Hayoon. If that's what you want, I won't meddle anymore."

"Oh yeah? What about the media? The name Park? Do you really think I'm going to believe the good Samaritan you've suddenly become? Spare me... I'm still the Park son, the gay one, the dancer, the shame of life family..."

Park's left foot was already starting to tap, another sign of his anger.

JaeHwa sighed, watching him as he reached the kitchen and fetched some water. An excuse, of course. I was worried.

"Do you know where the last name Park came from?"

"What kind of talk is this?"

"You don't carry my Park, Hayoon. It's your mother's Park."

Hayoon sighed heavily.

"Is that another threat?"

"For God's sake, I'm not here looking for any of that."

"I don't trust you, Dad. I'm honestly tired."

"And you think I'm not?! Do you know how much I've heard from your mother all these days since she came here? I haven't slept at home in two weeks."

"This is nothing new. You sure were in good arms..."

JoonHo sighed impatiently.

"Yes I was."

“Hayoon looked at him, denying it."

"You are disgusting… how can you judge us when you act worse?"

JoonHo averted his eyes, watching JaeHwa still in the kitchen.

"Is he really going to listen to the conversation?"

"You are at his house." Hayoon spoke, it was not even necessary to look to know that JaeHwa was there. Jeon was too protective to trust so easily.

Again the elder Park sighed.

"I really cheated on your mother for years.”

"In the past?" Hayoon laughed sarcastically.

"Yes, we have decided to divorce.”

Park's laughter ceased at that moment.

Her eyes roamed the room, her mind racing.

"I do not believe that…”

"We were already tired, but…”

"No!" looked at him in disbelief. "Did you come here to use emotional blackmail on me? You want me to believe that you're getting divorced because of me? Because of all this?”

"Hayoon, please.”

"Please say I, Father, have you no decency?”

"Can you please hear me?”

"I'm late.”

"Please!”

The youngest Park locked his jaw, he was stressed at his peak.
