Freya’s POV

Does Clay like me? I thought he and Alec were teasing me. I know about the rejection he suffered at the hands of a female Lycan. That was two years ago, and it was true that I couldn’t move an inch when I found them kissing and making out. I was sure that the female Lycan was his first because he was still very young. I don’t get how he knew she was his when he didn’t have a wolf yet, when he got rejected.

Clay is exceptional. He got his wolf last year when he was about to turn 17. That’s why he was chosen as Joric’s future beta. Britney is not fit for the position, not because she’s a she-wolf, but because she is just a beta’s daughter. Besides that, nothing else. She does have a wolf, but she is not that good at fighting and lacks intelligence.
