Chapter 290
“I didn’t!” Came Moosa’s response, “it was your jealousy and revenge, Sohrab.” The words were calm, measured. Moosa was not trying to defend himself. He was simply stating a fact. His voice was steady despite his injuries.
Sohrab’s men came and surrounded Moosa and Roshanay. Moosa tore the piece of the clothing that bound him and Roshanay and placed her body on the ground. He would not let her be caught in the crossfire. He would protect her, no matter what. He positioned himself between her and the attackers.
Sohrab looked at him and then at Roshanay. His eyes were cold, calculating. “Just like my wife and child died today, yours will leave this humble abode as well.” His voice was filled with venom, a curse upon his enemies.
“I am not you, Sohrab. And that’s one thing you’ve failed to establish.” Moosa’s voice was steady, unwavering. He would not be intimidated by Sohrab’s threats. He had faced death before and would face it again.
Sohrab looked at his men.
