Chapter 239. A Promise Unbroken
The next day, Sherhzaad was getting ready for her job. To make ends meet, she had been teaching the Quran to a few children around the neighborhood. The earnings weren't much, but at least she would be able to afford necessities for Chahat without being a burden on the old couple's shoulders.
"Give mama a kiss, Chahat," she tapped her cheek, lowering herself to her daughter's face, who was cuddled in Khubaib's lap, enchanting him with her and Mr. Sprinkles' gibberish.
"Muah." She still hadn't learned how to kiss yet, but the sound she would make while attaching her lips to Sherhzaad's cheek would always make her coo in adoration. Ruffling her hair, Sherhzaad kissed her forehead before wearing her scarf and walking out of their home.
