Chapter 8. Baffled
Zahra's mouth hung open. She was completely baffled.
It took good two minutes for her mind to conjecture what he has said.
"What are you saying?" Ammara started. She was as baffled as Zahra but she let her tongue move to register her protest and how absolutely absurd this condition sounded. Ammara was aware of the hatred he carried for her. He still tagged her as the woman who stole his son from him. But still it was just so ridiculous to get her daughter married so they could live under this roof.
"If you want to live here, you have to accept this condition, Ms. Ammara," He responded.
Ammara's gaze went to Irtaza, who sat there calmly, listening to their ordeal. He was quiet. His gaze was anywhere but on his grandfather and her daughter. He had his fingers steepled against his chin, as his forefinger knocked against his knuckle. Then his lashes rose and Zahra became an instant target of his stare.
