Chapter 185. Shots Fired
Leah’s POV
I froze, the folders still in my hands. I stared at the gun being pointed at me and for a moment, everything got blurry before my vision cleared again.
Why did I get drunk? Oh, yeah, to dull the pain. But now I was kind of regretting it.
“I’m—I just need these, that’s it,” I tried to explain but the woman scoffed. She was drunk, which made her even more dangerous.
She was drunk and emotional, which was a bad mix. “Are you hearing yourself? You tricked me. You didn’t come here to talk or anything. You came here to f*cking betray me, didn’t you?” She chuckled darkly as she took a few steps closer to me.
Her eyes were locked on me and even though she could not walk in a straight line, the gun she was holding was very steady. It was locked on me and she didn’t look like she was joking.
