Chapter 186. Heaven…?

Leah’s POV

Beep. Beep. Beep.

The steady beeping of the machine that usually is in hospital rooms was what the first thing I heard as I was starting to come to.

My eyelids were heavy at first but then they started to get lighter with each passing second; until I finally opened them. 

The room was blurry for the first few seconds but when I blinked, they cleared up. I was in a hospital room. I had no idea how much time had passed or what had happened but I was lying on a bed, feeling rested.

“Leah?” A voice startled me. I didn’t even notice that someone was in here with me. I turned to see that it was Rafael.

Was this a dream? Isn’t he supposed to be in prison? 

“What happened?” I managed to speak, my voice hoarse and a bit unclear. But I could tell that he understood me well.

“You have no idea,” he said, his eyes filled with excitement. He scoffed in disbelief as he stared at me, as if I had risen from the dea
