Chapter 65. Deal with the Devil

Jocelyn’s POV

“Antonio?” The word squeaked out of my mouth as my face rose in surprise.

Robert grinned at me, pleased with the reaction. “Surprised?”

I blinked, trying to connect the dots. Antonio… he used to work for Dominic. He was one of Dominic’s favorites until Dominic had him killed. Betrayal was what Dominic had called it. Yet here, right in front of me, Robert was telling me he was Antonio’s Father.

“Your son was Antonio?” I stammered, outright in shock.

Hardness was instant in Robert’s face, smirking playfulness of less than a second before replaced in an instant with something infinitely darker. “Yes, my only son.” His voice was cold, laced with venom. “And Dominic murdered him. He trusted Antonio, Antonio trusted him, but when it came down to crunch time Dominic shot him down like he wasn’t even anything.”

I fell back in my chair, my head trying involuntarily to wrap itself around the revelation. Antonio was always kinda a wild c
