S sleeps the entire day.
He barely stirred when I opened the windows to let light in. Didn’t move when I sat beside him. His chest rose and fell with the steady rhythm of someone completely removed from the world.
Maybe he needs that.
Kieran’s locked himself in the office.
Eliza’s gone out—shopping, she said, but I don’t think that’s all it is.
She needed air. Escape.
Me?
I’ve been pacing for hours. No plan. No destination.
I water the plants on the balcony until the soil turns soggy and my shirt clings to my back. I wipe the mist off the glass doors, only to watch it fog again. I walk aimlessly through the hallways until my legs ache.
I can’t stay still.
Not with the weight in my chest.
Not with the thoughts unraveling like a spool cut loose.
The maids start preparing dinner. I join them in the kitchen, silently, and they don’t ask why. Maybe they know. Or maybe they understand what it’s like to need
