Chapter 158

“Is everything okay?” I couldn't help but ask.

He nodded without looking at me. After wiping his face with towel, he removed his tie and lay down on the couch.

“Max?” I asked again.

“Yes, Erica. Everything's fine.” He said in sharp voice, closing his eyes shut and turning his back to me.

I don't know why but I didn't like the way with which he talked to me. If he said the same thing couple of days back then I would've not ignored it or talked back but I thought that the night he told me he likes me, everything changed between us. I don't know why I feel sad and have this weird urge to go to him and ask him again if he's okay.

“If you're going to act like a ass then fine, suit yourself.” I said, hoping to get a reaction out of him but he didn't react in any way.
