Chapter 123

Jason wished his wife would wake up. He was more worried than ever, and he was beginning to sweat, especially after that scare a while back. He was almost certain that his wife was gone, and he was utterly alone. His heart stopped beating for a second, and he didn't like that feeling or anything relating to it. The doctor assured him that Kitty was stable and there was nothing wrong with the baby, which made his mind stop racing and concentrate on being there for her when she woke up. Today has been one of the worst days of his life, and he didn't dare relieve any second of this.

He was glad Agent Jamison was here to keep him from going insane. He offered words of encouragement when necessary but otherwise kept mute. Jason has never appreciated him better. He told Jamison the main reasons why he was feeling guilty. Because he has been paying more attention to the case at hand and has been neglecting Kitty recently, he wondered if that was the cause of her episode. <
