Chapter 15
It was a dull-looking morning. The cloud was gray, and darkness was cast down upon the earth. The birds in the sky, although still chirping, were flying their way to take cover anywhere. Jason should've left for work at the same time as his wife, which would have been around eight am, but he didn't. He had to leave early. He had hired a private investigator for months now to keep tabs on the current mayor in Manhattan, who, then just an ordinary politician, had caused him to lose his precious firm. There was a low, constant rumbling sound coming from the sky. Perhaps Zeus and the hosts of other gods and demigods were going to war, or it was just threatening to rain.
As he grabbed himself a black umbrella, he caught sight of his naked wife's body wrapped loosely in a blanket. The window was opened, and the air coming in through it felt chilling.
