James decided to team up with Trish to get back at the Dantes, and he was going to show them that nobody messes with him and goes scot-free. Everybody on Wall Street knows that he was ruthless with information, and he was surprised that the Dantes wanted him to go back to the lifestyle he decided to leave. He might even divulge secrets to the detective if only he won't be implicated.
