Chapter 42. I Won't Miss You!

Beverley woke up in the middle of the night and didn’t see Brent in the bedroom. She checked his study, and he wasn’t there either. “Is he downstairs?”

She waited for a while, but Brent still didn’t come. Finally, she went downstairs. She turned on all the lights and searched for Brent.

“Is he home yet?”

She peered into the courtyard to confirm the whereabouts of Brent’s car. It turned out that the car he usually uses wasn’t there. That meant Brent wasn’t home yet.

Beverley returned to the bedroom. She checked her cell phone. There were no messages from Brent. She let out a long breath. “Forget it. Maybe he’s sleeping somewhere else.”
