Chapter 41. They Broke Up

Brent came home late at night, as usual. He quickly went up to his room and saw that Beverley was already asleep. She was curled up under a thick blanket.

He quickly cleaned himself up before laying his tired body at Beverley’s side. His hand moved to touch her forehead. She no longer had a fever.

Suddenly, the woman opened her eyes and immediately screamed hysterically. She hit Brent and pushed him off the bed.

“Beverley!” Brent immediately held back her hand in annoyance. “It’s me. Brent!”

Beverley immediately shut her mouth. She withdrew her hand, feeling awkward. “I’m sorry. I thought....”

“Did you just get home?” Beverley asked cautiously.
