Chapter 100. As Bright as a Diamond

Freya’s POV

“How are you feeling?” Rufus asked, running his fingers across my hair before placing a gentle kiss on my lips. “You’re not hurting anywhere are you?” his eyes studied me so carefully, as though he inspected every inch of my face.

“I feel okay,” I said, my eyes shifting to the window. “I wish they would go away.”

The two warriors that Nathan sent to follow us home, were still sitting in the car in our driveway. Their eyes on us through the window as they watched Rufus and I. I wanted our privacy now, to just enjoy my time with Rufus away from the Frostwind Pack.

“Forget them,” Rufus said, placing another kiss on my lips. “All I care about is you and your safety. It’s my priority to keep you safe, you’re my number one.”

I smiled as I ran my fingers through Rufus’s long silver hair. “I know, and I appreciate it. You’re my Number one too, I will always make sure we’re safe together,” I paused. “It’s a shame the party didn’t go as planned
