“Jared, Lara,” I smiled warmly, greeting the vampire hunters. “I’m so glad you both could make it.”

I felt genuinely happy to see their faces, Jared beamed with delight as he locked eyes with me, while Lara could have looked a bit more cheerier in this moment.
