Chapter 53. The Omegas

Freya’s POV

Elaine’s smile was genuine as she spoke so fondly of my parents. Nathan laid next to me while Percy stood leant against the doorway. All eyes were on Elaine as she told us the story of my parents.

“As you know Freya, your Mother and Father were mere Omegas in our pack,” Elaine said with a snobby tone to her voice, but I knew her opinion of the lower ranks of the pack, so I shouldn’t be shocked.

Elaine continued. “One day, my absolute idiot husband decided to go into the woods alone, he trespassed on the Highland Pack’s land.”

I took my eyes to Percy, his gaze averted to the ground with embarrassment. “I’m pretty sure Percy didn’t intend on overstepping, it can be easily done if you get carried away.”

“Don’t defend him!” Elaine said with a raised voice, she calmed her tone and carried on. “Percy, in his wolf form was attacked by a group of Highland wolves who were protecting their territory, leaving him for dead.”
