“Wait, so you’re not even gonna ask Alpha Sherman for child support?” Noah’s eyebrows shot up as he stared at me across our kitchen table.

I crossed my arms defensively. “Absolutely not. Why would I? He didn’t sign up for this - I did. My choice, my responsibility.”

The firmness in my voice surprised even me.

“That’s not happening, Silvia,” he said, his voice quieter but with an edge I rarely heard. “This whole plan is crazy reckless. You realize that, right?”
