Chapter 43. Protect Her!

Derek's POV.

Since it was only one wolf, I decided to finish him off quickly and then satisfy my vampire thirst, killing two birds with one stone. With a loud scream, I lunged at him, using my fangs to sink deep into his neck. He let out a loud scream, but I ignored his pain and kept on sucking his blood, feeling it flow through my veins like liquid fire.

As I drank, I could feel my strength growing, my senses heightening. The wolf's struggles grew weaker, and I knew I had him right where I wanted him. Finally, he went limp, and I pulled back, my fangs retracting with a soft click.

I stood up, my heart still racing, and looked down at the wolf's lifeless body. I felt a moment of satisfaction, knowing that I had taken care of the threat and satisfied my vampire thirst.

I felt a sudden, searing pain in my neck. I reached up and felt a wetness there, and when I pulled my hand away, I noticed that it was covered in blood. I felt a wave of dizziness
