"Derek," I called out, as he turned around to see me. I was happy I had opened my eyes in time, if not I would not have known Derek came over.

I smiled, feeling a sense of anticipation. I had expected him to come, and I was starting to get a read on his behavior.

But as I gazed at him, I noticed something unusual - his face was flushing red, and his eyes were cast downward, avoiding mine.
