“Stop bothering me, Zac. Shouldn’t you be back at the packhouse?” Simone said amidst strings of laughter. She tried arranging the baked muffins in the paper bags, but he was distracting her.
Zac nuzzled her neck, holding her from behind. He had become so addicted to being around her that he couldn’t stay away for too long. “I am only here to take lunch.”
She giggled. “You know I send the baked goods over to the packhouse every time. There was no need for you to come to get it yourself.”
“This is the only excuse I can use to see you without feeling bad about leaving my duty post. Also, the other guards love the breakfast you made for me the other day.”
“They ate with you?” she asked, surprised.
“I told you they couldn’t resist the aroma of your delicacy; they had to drag it with me.”
“If that is the case, I am packing for every one of you. Tell them not to worry; I will ensure to get them filled daily from now on.”
