Chapter 77

Mona paced the orchard back and forth, glancing around her to catch any glimpse of Mark, but he still didn’t show up. Mark had come to the packhouse to deliver some baked goods and had also thought to check on her. It came as a shock when the Alpha had asked to see him.

Different thoughts popped into Mona’s head. What if he is being tied down by the Alpha or getting threatened to stay away from her? This morning, she had received a letter from her parents, saying they had gone to meet Alpha Simba to help sort out the situation. In return, Alpha Simba had promised to write to Dylan to discuss it.

She expected Dylan to call her for clarification and a few insults to rain on her like he always does. What she wasn’t expecting was Mark getting called upon. All her nerves were jumbled together, and she couldn’t keep her thoughts in one place.

“Mona,” Mark called out to her.

Hearing his voice made her heart skip a beat. Mona carried her legs and ran towards him, fee
