Chapter 19
By the time she was done, I was already a crying mess. I didn't know what it was to have a mate but I knew that it was painful for one to live without a mate. A mate was like the other half of someone. When one's mate dies, the person feels like a part of him or her was dead and never resurrected. If it was that painful, then how painful was it to watch one's mate die? One thing struck me and I decided to ask her but not without cleaning my face with the tissue and blowing my nose. Hell, I even cried more than her, she barely even cried. I couldn't tell her that I understood her pain because I clearly did not know what it was to lose a family.
"You knew clearly that it was the werewolves, my kind, that brought you that extent of misery but why did you save my life that night?" I asked her watching her every reaction.
"Like I told you earlier, they acted like they were under special directives to eliminate my family, besides, why would I attribute one's sin to his kind?"
