Wayne was so fast that Olive felt like she was chasing the wind. Did they say the cheetah was the fastest animal on land? Seriously?
She growled at him as she saw his back fading into the distance. They had just started racing, but she was already out of breath. She slowed down and began to breathe way faster than usual. Man, what a mate! Why couldn’t he just calm down?
She sat on the road at the edge of the woods and waited for him to come back. She wasn’t going to kill herself just because she wanted to race her male.
About a minute later, she saw him tearing through the wind toward her. Before she could even blink a few times, he was already standing in front of her, his thick, bushy tail waving in the air and his graceful body poised elegantly.
