Chapter 19. Going into the Woods
Olive knew by the look on Gia's face that she was no ordinary woman. She was dressed formally, wearing a designer suit that was styled as a short dress. The women behind her were fierce, wearing red leather jackets and pants. They looked like her bodyguards.
She knew Balendin was a state in its own right, so it had many officials. Gia had to be one of them.
“That lady. Who was she?” Olive asked as they approached a black Rolls-Royce Phantom. She looked at Wayne’s stern face and waited for an answer. He didn’t seem to want to respond.
Olive tugged at his jacket because she suspected something fishy about the situation. The way Gia looked at him, and then at her, there were two very different expressions. And the look she had received was deeply scrutinizing.
