He gently let them land on the rock directly beneath them, but before Olive could even wince at its temperature, she was lifted back into the air. Within a second, she was tearing through the wind toward her mate.

Alpha Knight pulled her to himself in a sudden flash. She was in his arms two seconds later, and he was squeezing the life out of her.

“Wayne... Wayynee, I can’t breathe,” she gasped before he finally released her. He looked her over frantically, his hands firmly gripping her shoulders.

“You almost didn’t breathe for real. I almost lost you. What if I hadn’t heard? What if I had been even a minute late?” he panicked.

Olive smiled. “Thank you for saving us,” she said and hugged him. He kissed her ear and rubbed her back gently.
