Chapter 28
Sara cautiously stepped backward, her heart pounding in her chest as she came face to face with the fierce lycan. Its dark, soulless eyes bore into hers, and she felt a shiver run down her spine.
The lycan sniffed the air, its nose twitching as it picked up her scent. With a low growl, it spoke, its voice rumbling like thunder. "You are not my mate. Who are you?"
Sara swallowed nervously, her eyes darting around for any sign of escape. She knew she was no match for the powerful creature in front of her, but she was determined not to show her fear.
"I won't ask again, who are you?" the voice turned even darker.
"I am Sara," she replied, her voice steady despite her racing heart. "I am your mate."
The Lycan's eyes narrowed, and it took a step closer to her, its teeth bared. "If you value your head, I suggest you speak the truth?" it growled.
