Chapter 122. King Klaus

Suzie POV

I shifted on the small bed, my eyes turning to the empty tray of food that lay on the floor beside me. The cell has become more inhabitable after Carl and I had lied to the dark king about me being sick.

I was unsure about Carl’s plan, but now that it has happened, I couldn’t thank him enough. Aside from the antidote being given to my people, the dark king made life a bit easier for me.

He provided me with everything I needed to feel comfortable and at home. A bed, proper good, a table and some blankets to shield me from the cold. I had to pretend and fake my illness, and even after two days, the dark king had not seen through my facade.

The sound of the cell bars cracking up, made me sit up on the bed. A guard walked in, and slid a large tray of food, right in front of the bed. He walked out, and I gazed at the tray filled with mouth watering delicacies.

When the dark king originally started sending me proper meals, I tol
