Chapter 146. Defeating The Guards

Carl POV

My eyes fluttered open, and the first thing that met my eyes was someone I was not expecting to see. His eyes were growing wide, like he had seen something so surprising.

“Carl!” his voice rang through the room.

I shifted, and noticed that the surface I lay on was so soft, I felt like I was melting on it. I looked down to myself and saw a white blanket draped on me. I blinked, rubbing my eyes to clear the blurinesss.

I pushed myself up into a sitting position and before I could do anything, Elliot wrapped me in a hug. He held me tight, and I could hear how his breath shook.

“I thought I lost you, I was so scared,” He sighed.

My heart skipped a beat for a slight second, but I did not allow myself to be swayed. I pushed him away, and waved my hands in the air.

“Why are you getting all mushy on me?” I asked, rolling my eyes.

Elliot chuckled, taking my hand in his. “I am more than glad that you’re back to your normal self.
