I jolted back, almost tripping on my own toes and falling to the floor. I snapped my head back, and my eyes landed on Carl. I went wide eyed and pointed at him, as I was speechless.

“I can already hear your thoughts from the way you’re looking at me,” He sighed and rolled his eyes.

“You’re not in handcuffs anymore, does that mean there’s significant progress between the both of you?”
