Chapter 36. Not So Bad
Sarah pressed her back against the wall and stuck out her head, peeking around the corner and down the stairs. The moment she saw that the coast was clear, she hurried down and tiptoed into the kitchen.
The place was quiet, almost too quiet. Yesterday, the things she did, the words she said… she swore not to drink again because of it. It was like every day became more embarrassing than the other. Was she cursed?
She’d been adamant on staying out of Damon’s sight since morning, even going as far as hiding out in Trixie and Haguy’s room. And she would’ve done it perfectly had those so-called friends brought her a bottle of water to quench her thirst or even a spoonful of food. Fearing his wrath just the same, they traitorously refused to go downstairs.
