Chapter 62. Kidnapped
Damon had been running on all fours for hours. He wasn’t tired. Just impatient. Time seemed to pass slowly and it was only willpower that kept him from turning around and heading right back to his mate. Today they had progress, or at least he thought they did. So now, he just wanted to get this over with quickly and return with Maxim’s head as his trophy.
A speck of red at the corner of his vision made Damon swallow his thoughts, his huge wolf form skidding to a stop next to a small tree. Around a branch, a red cloth was tied tightly. This was it… the rendezvous, spot where he should’ve been meeting with that trash hunter, Kevin March and his followers. Yet, as if asking to be killed, the man was nowhere to be seen. He couldn’t hear nor smell them, and no delays had been communicated with him either. What kind of bullshit games were those humans playing?
They were the ones who asked to prove their worth as allies and he allowed it, deciding they at least had use as shiel
