Chapter 244. The Partnership

~3RD PERSON’S POV~

Evelyn sat inside a horse-drawn carriage on an empty road. The carriage, colored dark red, had several golden, dragon-shaped embossments on each side. It had wooden walls with polished frames and a roof made entirely of thick black leather. 

The driver of the carriage and the horses that drew it were dressed in clothing that almost looked royal. Evelyn, on the other hand, was dressed in a simple T-shirt and blue jeans. The road they were on was surrounded by a thick forest, and sounds from different animals hidden in the depths of the woods were spread around by a cold morning breeze like a “good morning” from nature itself. 

 Indifferent to the beautiful sounds that filled the air, Evelyn carried an emotionless expression on her face. The only thought that coursed through her mind was getting to her destination without any interference of any kind. Her carriage suddenly came to a halt, and the sudden break forced the black curtain
