Chapter 25. Sudden Breakfast

~GABRIELLA'S POV~

“Oh my goodness! You had a conversation with the head of the council and didn't even know it? Did she remove her veil?” Clarabelle said it with a look of surprise on her face.

“Her veil? What's that?” I asked.

“Well, all the council members have veils on. The faces you see on them aren't their true faces. Revealing their faces carelessly would put them in real danger. Only the members of the council know the faces of other members,” Clarabelle replied.

“Oh? Well, I couldn't really tell if she was on a veil or not,” I said.

“Hmm, but you saw the face lady Anaya is known by, and since the alpha's confirmed it, it must've been her,” Maria said.

“Yeah, now I feel even more horrible for pouring wine on her dress. What if she gets me killed?” I said, placing my palms over my face.

“Oh common, from what you told us, I'm pretty sure she now considers you a friend. Maybe she'll even invite you to her home one day,” Marie said.
