Chapter 26. Christine
~GABRIELLA'S POV~
I quietly stepped out of Steven's room and gently closed the door. I maintained a blank expression on my face to keep my heart from exploding, but my entire head had become red, and traces of steam could be seen rising from its center.
I walked back to the cafeteria to join the other maids, and one of them asked.
“Where have you been? We're already done serving everyone,” she said.
“Aaaahyaaabahaabbaba,” the jibrish poured out of my mouth, and following it was smoke.
The maid stared at me for a moment with a confused expression on her face, then said, “Uhhh, your friends are waiting for you at the table over there.” She pointed in the direction, and I moved toward it.
“Uhhh, I think something's wrong with Gabriella,” Maria said as I took a seat.
“You think? Her face is all red, and she hasn't blinked or said anything in like five minutes,” Clarabelle answered.
They both stared at me for a few more seconds, then Maria
