Raina’s POV

Disassembled voices seeped into my subconsciousness. Metal clanged somewhere, drilling into my head and worsening the ache behind my eyes.

I felt incredibly drowsy, dizzy, confused, nauseous, and out of it. Seconds passed, and several shuffling sounds became clearer.

“Perfect! We got her without a hitch.” A man cheered gruffly. “Magnificent!”

“And here I thought you would change your mind for the princess. I was getting ready to kill you.” Another man snickered darkly.

“Will these restraints hold her? We saw what she did to Pandia.” This sounded like a young, unfamiliar female.

“Oh, please. It was all staged. The mere fact that Pandia was just a stand-in, it was probably their witch's doing,” an older woman's gravelly, time-worn voice sneer
