Feeling his hand take mine, we leave together. When we get to my car, he leans close and kisses me again but then quickly says, “I will follow you back to your house.” With so much promise in his voice.
Even though I have this strange feeling that I am about to go down a path I will never be able to come back from, I smile and say, “Alright.”
Because Sam doesn’t seem to be the type of man who would have a casual one-night stand with anyone.
As he said, he loved his wife till the day she gave him his divorce papers.
I get the feeling if we enter a relationship, this time will be our last.
And honestly, I don’t know if that is what I want or not, but those eyes.
When I stare into them, I can’t say no. Not even once. Besides, why would I want to?
After I get in and shut the door, he walks back to his old beat-up pickup truck.
