"What? Jayden was here?" When Mel told me about his visit, I asked, unconsciously raising my voice.

I peered anxiously in the direction of Caleb, who was still playing with his toy drum set.

Mel informed me that Jayden came to our house simply to return the toy drum set that she had seen me leave behind in the restaurant.

"Did... he see Caleb?" I asked in a weak tone.

"He didn't see Caleb, but he knew a child lived here," she whispered, leaving me weak in the knees.

"I've informed Jayden that Caleb is my son, so don't worry. Since he heard your son, I have no choice," she explained.

I was rather relieved to discover that Jayden believed Caleb to be Mel's son.

As soon as I heard her say, "I believe you need to confess to Jayden about Caleb," I shook my head.
