Chapter 23. Where Is Ivy?

Within a few meters of the table where Ed Shane and Lilyana were, Lucy seemed to have made up her mind. She prepared several answers in her mind to the questions Lilyana might ask.

Her legs kept moving even though they felt heavy. Her heart was beating fast as she got closer.

"Hey Ed, since when were you here?" Lucy pretended not to know that Ed was already with Lilyana.

But Ed Shane had not yet answered Lucy's greeting, Lilyana immediately asked, "Where is Ivy, Lucy? Wasn't she with you earlier?"

"Yeah, she said she had urgent business so she had to go," said Lucy with a smile to get rid of the awkwardness.

While in her seat Lilyana just nodded her head even though she felt something odd had happened this afternoon.

"Sit down, Lucy." Ed Shane said breaking the few seconds of silence between them.
