It is not technically a lie, he came back to he because she is easy prey. She was too scared to rebel against her sack from the police force. She had taken the cheque and inadvertently bought her silence. 

"That is understandable. What have you done for him?" Travis asks casually, he tries to hide the fact that he is scared of the woman sitting next to him. She draws close to touch his thigh but he instinctively moves away from her touch. She sighs sadly.

 "I delivered a note to a home around the block. I gave him intel on Lewis. That is all of it. I swear." She says, raising her hands to signal a solemn oath. "Why could you not say no? You could have saved the last dignity you had." He asks this and stares at her. She can not keep her gaze on him. She sighs deeply and rests her head on the couch.

 "He is blackmailing you, isn't he? He knows something you have done." He mentions and Amber shut her eyes in resignation.
