Chapter 63
The garden can not help him unless he is in need. What does that even mean? "What are you saying? I can not deal with this right now." He almost yells in frustration. His mind begins to dissect the old man's statement until he finally gets it. A light bulb flashes bright in his mind. The garden will not help him unless he is in need. The garden is a place for life. The garden does not stand for killing. His life is priority. "I need to save my life. I need protection." Jacob blurts out.
Jacob walks out of the garden as a renewed being. He feels new, more relaxed. Outside, there are no shootings or killings. Everywhere is eerily quiet and calm. He walks towards the direction of the house and looks around for signs of the van. He no longer sees them. He walks confidently to the house. He finds Manuel at the living room with Mia. Mia is knitting and he can not fathom what she might be putting together yet. They both stare at him as he walks in.
"Where have you been?"
