Chapter 9. Surprising Connection

I woke up today, realizing it's my engagement day. The past six days went by quickly, thinking about Cassian. A small smile came to my lips as I thought of him. Soon, I'd officially be with Cassian, and the idea made me blush.

Lost in my thoughts, I forgot my duties. I remembered I was still at home and had things to do. I quickly made my bed; I don't like mess. Then, I took a quick shower and put on a plain mauve churidar with a light blue dupatta. I knew I'd change later. After that, I put on moisturizer and chapstick and wore jhumkas on my ears. I tied my hair in a loose braid.

I prayed silently before starting the day. I hoped for a smooth day for everyone. But my prayers for Cassian were special, something I'd done for the past six days. It felt like my heart made me do it.
