Chapter 33. The Search II
We both got into the car, and like before, she seemed lost in her thoughts and forgot to fasten her seatbelt. "Seatbelt," I reminded her, and she quickly buckled up. I started the car, and for a while, neither of us said anything.
Then it occurred to me that I needed to let Noah know that I had found Seraphina since he must still be worried. I dialed his number, and he answered right away. "Did you find her?" he asked eagerly. "Yes, you can relax now; she's with me," I replied. "Thank goodness! I'll see you tomorrow," he said before ending the call.
"Sorry," I heard Seraphina say softly. "What are you sorry for, Seraphina?" I asked, abruptly stopping the car. I gripped her shoulders and asked her why she was apologizing.
