Chapter 38. Med School

Seraphina

A month had gone by since I started medical school. During that time, I had become closer to Shreya and Veer. Veer was like an older brother to me, and Shreya felt like the sister I never had. They were deeply in love and had been together for three years. Sometimes, I wished that Cassian and I could have a similar bond, but I knew it wasn't possible. Our relationship remained the same. We hardly saw each other or talked. Most of my days were spent studying at college or with Mary aunty on weekends. Cassian was always at work, even on weekends. He would come home late and leave early. Two and a half months into our marriage, there had been no progress in our relationship, which Cassian had made clear on our wedding night.

...

I had just finished my last class for the day and was waiting for the car. Usually, the car would be ready for me before I even left my classes, but today it hadn't arrived yet. Maybe the driver, Rey, was stuck in traffic.<
