As I was chopping vegetables for dinner, lost in thoughts of Cassian, I couldn't help but notice that our relationship had improved a lot. We talked more, he started coming home on time to have dinner with me, and sometimes he even took me out. It felt good that he seemed to have forgotten about Ayesha. But there was still a lingering worry in the back of my mind that he might decide to divorce me in a few months.
My mind was so occupied that I accidentally cut my finger while slicing the vegetables. I exclaimed in pain and tears welled up in my eyes. Suddenly, Cassian gently grabbed my injured finger. I looked at him with teary eyes, and he looked at me with concern. When did he arrive? "Stop worrying about that right now," he said firmly, and quickly rinsed my bleeding finger under the faucet.
