Chapter 18

The Empty Space

Mrs. Young enters Eun-Hee room, her heart shatters seeing her only child in a worse stage. She rushes towards her and embraces her. 

“Mom, I lost him,” Eun-Hee says in a sob. 

Her mother looks at her face worried but doesn’t comment on it. Instead, she tries to reassure her daughter.

“I know, sweetie. We will find a way.” 

Eun-Hee nods and hugs her mom tighter. They were sitting down when Mrs. Young’s phone rings indicating that someone is calling for her. Eun-Hee sits up and lets go of the hug, she takes the call. As she hears the person on the other line speaking she starts getting anxious again.

“Hello? … Mrs. Young, can you hear me? … Okay… thank you.” Then she hangs up. She turns to look at her daughter and smiles. “Eunnie, remember what your father told you when you were little?”
