Chapter 21

Understanding

Soon-Ja shakes her head and smiles. “She is his first wife. If they are having a good time it doesn’t matter at all.” 

She takes the jug and heads to the bedroom. Soon-Ja smiles cheekily seeing her husband sleeping while spreading his arms and legs all over the bed.

“You are a king,” she states and places the jug on the table. Soon-Ja is admiring Jung-Won’s facial features with small smiles. She sits on the edge of the bed and caresses his cheek gently. He stirs for a moment but still sleeps peacefully as soon as Soon-Ja sees that he is in his slumber. The soft breeze coming from outside brings a chill to Soon-Ja’s body and she gets up walking towards the window.

She sighs looking out at the view. It is almost impossible to see everything from inside the house walls. 

“I am sorry for not being a good human,” Soon-Ja is saying under her breath as she turns back. She flinch
