Chapter 59. Stupid Mistake

Rachel gasped. Her eyes widened, and her lips trembled. Her breath caught in her throat.

“Honey, why is this so sudden? Can we postpone it until tonight? I still need to—”

“You prefer him over me?” Lucas raised an eyebrow threateningly.

Rachel swallowed her words. Forcing herself to breathe steadily, she tried to calm down.

“Of course not.”

“Then sleep with me. Just once. After that, I’ll believe you’re truly a faithful wife.”

Rachel froze. She didn’t know what to say. Fear and hesitation tightened her chest.

When Lucas touched her, she stiffened but didn’t move away. She pressed her lips together, trying to stay composed.
